The number 3

1 John 5:7

King James Version

7 For there are three

that bear record in heaven,

the Father,

the Word,

and the Holy Ghost:

and these three are one.

What did I learn about the number 3?

What did Scripture tell me?

Where did SPIRIT lead me?

Aha, good questions.

SPIRIT led me to JESUS and Peter.

JESUS asks something of Peter:

John 21:15-17

King James Version

15 So when they had dined,

Jesus saith to Simon Peter,

Simon, son of Jonas,

lovest thou me more than these?

He saith unto him,

Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.

 He saith unto him,

Feed my lambs.

16 He saith to him again the second time,

Simon, son of Jonas,

lovest thou me?

He saith unto him,

Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.

He saith unto him,

Feed my sheep.

17 He saith unto him the third time,

Simon, son of Jonas,

lovest thou me?

Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time,

Lovest thou me?

And he said unto him,

Lord, thou knowest all things;

thou knowest that I love thee.

Jesus saith unto him,

Feed my sheep.

JESUS prophesies about Peter:

Mark 14:27-31

King James Version

27 And Jesus saith unto them,

All ye shall be offended because of me this night:

for it is written,

I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

28 But after that I am risen,

I will go before you into Galilee.

29 But Peter said unto him,

Although all shall be offended,

yet will not I.

30 And Jesus saith unto him,

Verily I say unto thee,

That this day, even in this night,

before the cock crow twice,

thou shalt deny me thrice.

31 But he spake the more vehemently,

If I should die with thee,

I will not deny thee in any wise.

Likewise also said they all.

The LORD's prophecy came true.

Luke 22:54-62

King James Version

54 Then took they him,

and led him,

and brought him into the high priest's house.

And Peter followed afar off.

55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall,

and were set down together,

Peter sat down among them.

56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire,

and earnestly looked upon him,

and said,

This man was also with him.

57 And he denied him, saying,

Woman, I know him not.

58 And after a little while another saw him,

and said,

Thou art also of them.

And Peter said,

Man, I am not.

59 And about the space of one hour after

another confidently affirmed,

saying,

Of a truth this fellow also was with him:

for he is a Galilaean.

60 And Peter said,

Man, I know not what thou sayest.

And immediately,

while he yet spake,

the cock crew.

61 And the Lord turned,

and looked upon Peter.

And Peter remembered the word of the Lord,

how he had said unto him,

Before the cock crow,

thou shalt deny me thrice.

62 And Peter went out,

and wept bitterly.

In that same time that JESUS had His apostles with Him, He also asked:

Mark 14:32-41

King James Version

32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane:

and he saith to his disciples,

Sit ye here,

while I shall pray.

33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John,

and began to be sore amazed,

and to be very heavy;

34 And saith unto them,

My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death:

tarry ye here,

and watch.

35 And he went forward a little,

and fell on the ground,

and prayed that,

if it were possible,

the hour might pass from him.

36 And he said,

Abba, Father,

all things are possible unto thee;

take away this cup from me:

nevertheless not what I will,

but what thou wilt.

37 And he cometh,

and findeth them sleeping,

and saith unto Peter,

Simon, sleepest thou?

couldest not thou watch one hour?

38 Watch ye and pray,

lest ye enter into temptation.

The spirit truly is ready,

but the flesh is weak.

39 And again he went away,

and prayed,

and spake the same words.

40 And when he returned,

he found them asleep again,

(for their eyes were heavy,)

neither wist they what to answer him.

41 And he cometh the third time,

and saith unto them,

Sleep on now,

and take your rest:

it is enough,

the hour is come;

behold, the Son of man is betrayed

into the hands of sinners.

JESUS made sure He asked Peter THREE times.

He also prophesied about Peter THREE times.

He came back for His sleepy apostles, THREE times.

The THIRD time He woke up His apostles, "the hour is come".

Now, you know how SACRED God's number's are.

They mean EVERYTHING to the LORD.

They mean EVERYTHING to me, too.

The next 2 posts will tell you more about the number 3.

It's got to be THREE posts, in all.

But, of course.
